It has been said that up to 50% of defects in a product are injected in the requirements phase. This exercise explores the application of review techniques to identify defects in requirements.
Your task for this exercise is to review the requirements for the Budget Program from last year. using the requirements review checklist adapted from Software Testing in the Real World, Edward Kit.
Obtain the now familiar Budget Program project requirements.
Using the checklist as a guide, review these requirements. Then, write an analysis listing defects found under each of the checklist's ten categories. Identify each category by number and name, then list defects found. Identify defects by (sub)section number and name.
In addition, include a summary section listing the number of defects found and the time you spent doing the review and recording the results.
Submit a formatted document in 12pt type, stapled in the upper left hand corner with a single sturdy staple. Include a cover page with the document title, your name and student ID. Provide a separate section for each step specified above.
Include the usual title page with your name, id, and assignment title. Follow the general guidelines spelled out on the home page.
