Human-Computer Interaction

This is a course on design and analysis of user interfaces, not a course on GUI programming. We will discuss elements of human cognition relevant to HCI, design and analysis methodologies and paradigms, and HCI for multimedia and web applications. The text will be a collection of papers, both classic and recent, supplemented by very recent papers. Students will be expected to conduct analyses of existing user interfaces, singly and in teams, and implement a simple user interface to apply some of the design concepts discussed. (2 units)
